Information for New or Prospective Swimmers
Onehunga Swimming Club is based at Jellicoe Pool, Onehunga. It is a registered charity and provides competitive and non-competitive swimming training and learn to swim lessons.
Learn to Swim
We teach learn to swim in the small pool (from age 5), and in lane 6 of the big pool. Lessons are half an hour long, and are at 6.30pm or 7pm on Friday and on Sunday nights. You can choose to swim once or twice a week. We swim in the last weekend of the school term but do not swim in the school holidays.
Children are placed in the class applicable to their ability. Children progress up the classes and will move into the big pool when the teachers consider they are ready.
Mini Squad
Once children are able to swim all strokes and after discussion with the relevant coaches, they can move to the mini squad group. These children swim three times a week on Wednesday 6.30pm to 8pm, Friday 7pm to 8.30pm and Sunday 6.30pm to 7.30pm. We swim in the last weekend of term but do not swim in the school holidays
Fees
Fees are payable on a term basis, you will be invoiced by the club and can pay at the pool by cheque or cash, or by internet banking.
